looks good. looks a little like borderlands, has the same cartoon look. can go between 1st and 3rd person views. comes out 2011 sometime, no date yet. [-link-] theres a trailer and gameplay video on the homepage. It's a MMO, and its suppose to be completely free and they will make money from in-game item purchases. I heard that someone from tribes is working on the game. EDIT: Is Firefall an MMO? No. Firefall is first and foremost an action shooter. We incorporated a lot of elements that you might find in various genres, including MMOs, but it is not an MMO in the traditional sense. Edited Thu Sept 09 2010, 08:36PM |

I was actually going to post something about this MMO a few days ago on the front page but I decided to wait awhile since it won't be out for another year or so. It does look like fun, actually it looks like a lot of fun. As in the first FPSMMO that actually delivers. The gameplay video has a scene where the town you sell your excess gear and start groups in gets taken under siege a huge beast and requires you take a turret and getting blast happy, but before you even do that you have to get past the enemy foot soldiers. I really liked how there wasn't any loading screens, it was all one single area that was absolutely huge in scope... The only problem I see with it is the buying of in-game items...these have a horrible tendency of ruining the balance in game...and it's not fair when someone who has the dough to spend can just simply get better gear that no one else will get despite the amount of hours they put in. I'm sure we'll find out as the game comes closer to release. If I had a choice, it would just be really sweet looking skins for existing armor and weapons. This would add not only a cool aspect but would also hide what exactly you were using in PVP which can be a real advantage and was one of the nicer aspects of AION. I think it's safe to say though that I'm going to keep an interested eye on this game's development. O h and btw one of the cooler things is the switching between first person and third person...very effing cool. Edited Thu Sept 09 2010, 10:17PM |

Quite update... Here 's is some new stuff that has been revealed at PAX It has a whole bunch of videos. Pax Videos of FireFall Anyway Series' link has the 11 minute gameplay video, and it has the town scene I talked about earlier. Notice how it's has no loading screens. Everything you see from the drop ship is playable terrain and real time rendering so if you see some group fighting in that area while flying back to town...that's an actual group not just script. Bringing back a thead started in 2010. haha. Trinity brought this game up again recently in Teamspeak. The game is in open beta right now. Same link as listed above. Going to give it a try. After three + years of development, you'd think it might be worth a shot now :) Edited Mon Aug 26 2013, 05:39AM |
