I installed the ATi Catalyst 11.3 drivers last night. Today when I went to play BC2, the Fog of War is totally gone. I can see all the way across Atacama from one base to the other. It's wild. But so much better playing. It's like the old Desert Combat!! I checked my settings and they're all the same as I had them before. I do receive a bit more lag because the game is rendering everything in whatever direction I turn. Still, not a bad trade off :) Wonder if ATi (AMD) did this on purpose. Hmm. I wonder if it only happened to me. I'm not thinking so. Too many people are shooting me from Waaaaay off now. Lol. |

After some tinkering, I found that lowering my settings returned fog of war. The key seems to be setting the "Effects" in the Advanced screen of the BC2 graphics options to Medium. By putting it at Low, FoW came back. Haven't tried it on High as I've always used medium. Hmm. Btw, it removes the color of the water on the maps. So, you can see right through it as if it's not there. Sparkling clear water. heh. |
