I've been getting this error for the last 2 days. Has anyone dealt with this?

Not recently. A long time ago it happened to me and as I recall I reinstalled the steam client. Can't remember if that fixered the problem though. I had also changed Firewalls and that was prolly the culprit. Disable yours and see if that's the problem. Also, if you're still using Kingsoft, you may want to disable that as well. While their AV worked great, the new upgrade to their suite ruined two of my computers (using their OS software updater.)

Yeah, I think I was getting it the other day. It finally kicked in, but I tried rebooting earlier and it did nothing.

Steam finally got back to me. For future reference, if this happens to anyone, delete everything in your steam folder on your hdd EXCEPT steamapps and the .exe file. This method isn't suppose to mess with your games at all, but I haven't had a chance to game yet so I don't know for sure. |
