well, heres the thing. i can get it to where itll try and load either a multi player map or a singleplayer story mode map and it just dies. straight to desktop, no error or anything. any ideas? i think im gonna try reinstalling tonight, see if that fixes it. |

reimage is always good...start with clean install...most ctd problems are driver related. | ||

update your video drivers, remove the old ones first. I personally always run driver sweeper after I uninstall my nvidia drivers, it removes the left over files that the uninstaller doesn't remove. you run it in safe mode. [-link-] if your running SLI, you might want to disable one card. and maybe try updating your sound card drivers as well. and in the game settings, try lowering your sound quality, and try different graphics settings. make sure the game is set on your monitor's native resolution, and correct screen refresh rate. I don't know if a reformat would help since you must have installed windows pretty recently. I assume since this is a new system your running windows 7 64bit since you have 3+ gigs of ram. try updating your chipset drivers from the motherboard's website. Edited Fri Aug 13 2010, 06:50PM |

I play MW2 almost exclusively. For some reason that I can't exactly describe...I can't stand BFDC2, so I don't get to game with the boys too often. Still play some TF2, occasionally. Though, I accidentally blew away my windows partition (my system dual boots Linux/Windows) so I haven't gamed in about a week... withdrawal is a bitch. |
