I couldn't pass up Mass Effect for only $10 on the EA online store. Direct download, of course. All I've done is make a character and the graphics are fantastic. I'll let you know if it was worth the ten bucks later though after I've played it some. haha. [-link-] |

Well, the game is like a choose your own adventure movie. The graphics are great and the dialog is good. Without a manual, the controls are a bit weird. I have to keep going into the settings and looking at the controls to see what does what. I'm still not sure what I'm doing sometimes or where I need to go to. But, the game is beautiful enough and well worth the $10 spent on it. It's a good, cheap christmas gift to myself. I think others can easily enjoy it too for that price. It was 10gb and took me about 3 hours to download on the EA downloader. I didn't even have to enter the key code they gave me. It just ran from the downloader just fine. Installed on a Vista 64-bit machine and have had no problems. Running at all high graphics even though my system is a bit old. It'll hickup every now and then, but it's worth that for the top notch settings.

Mass Effect is easily one of my favorite single player titles I own. I have it for the PC and my 360, gripping storyline, and the voice acting is probably the best I've heard, few other titles match it for diversity...Bal dur's gate 1 & 2 comes to mind.

Yeah, two of the voices I recognized immediately were Seth Green and Marina Sirtis. I've already played over 30 hours. I enjoy just scouting the alien terrains. I'd actually like to see a screensaver made from some of them. Man, it's just so nice to look at. I imagine that if they wanted to, they could create a multiplayer experience very much like Battlefield. T his game is like the older brother to a game that came out in 1998 called Redline. It's got some similarities that remind me of it a good bit. If I had the money, I'd buy everyone a copy of this who didn't have it. This game deserves to be played :) |

I bought it about a week ago playing it the first time and beat it recently and I have to say it's now one of my favorite games of all time. Great story and graphics and I love being able to make my own decisions. It's just so much fun being an ass to people...

Heh heh Mooch. I actually went the way of being good. Paragon, I believe it's called. The cool part is that I made a female character and her love interest is a female alien. haha. Good stuff :P |
