to Sweden! Yes that's right. I'm going to Sweden. I leave Friday January 22. A good friend of mine invited me along and I couldn't turn it down. It's a chance of a lifetime for me so I'm doing it. Sweden is like the Nashville of Death Metal so that makes it even more exciting for him and I. I really hope we can find some good shows while were there. The Gothenburg Film Festival will be happening while we're there too and we're hoping to see a movie or two.

I can't remember being more excited for anything in my life.

Oh, that's so cool. I'm sure you'll have an awesome time. I've wanted to visit Sweden since I met a foreign exchange student in high school from there long ago. She was so freakin' hot. Heck, I've still got a sweden/english dictionary somewhere in my boxes of stuff because I wanted to learn her language. Never did though. haha. But yeah dude, hope you have a great trip. Maybe you can bring us all back a swedish bikini babe :P

I've just wanted to go anywhere in Europe. I don't care where, just somewhere. That really is awesome, though, HK. Tell you're friend if uhh, he needs one more to come along, I think I'll be available. :)

Well we got shitfaced drunk saturday night lol. We met a couple guys from Wisconsin! One went to the same school as my buddy. They have been living here for a few years so they took us out for a bit saturday night. We went to a boat bar. Patricia it was called. It stays open til 5am. We closed it down in true wisconsin style.

Walked around the island were on today. Just taking everything in. Spent hours trying to get lost. Stockholm is a gorgeous city so far. They don't clear the snow from the sidewalks though. It just get trampled down into ice and then they throw something like tailings on it like the rural roads in wisconsin. It's quite treacherous. Always gotta be sure of your footing.

Walked to the next island. It's the old town. This is where the royal palace is. What a sight! It was about 10pm and I almost did'nt see the armed guards staring us down lol. The old town is amazing to see. I kept expecting to see a horse drawn buggy come down the street at any time. Both of us were at a loss for words. Just being in a place as old as that is truly awe inspiring.

They can party pretty good too. I don't think I'm scaring them at all. The women are a bit intimidating though. Soooo gorgeous they are. You could throw a rock in any direction and hit one. They're everywhere! And they wear super tight pants or skirts at all times. That's not an exaggeration either.

Took a highspeed train to Gothenburg (Götebörg) today. This train travels up to 125mph. Took us 3 hours to travel 290 miles. Very comfy too. Walked around the town for a couple hours then took a nap. This traveling business is tiresome at times lol.

We met some more people last night and stayed out having beers with them. A nice couple from the neighboring island. We did a lot of talking and learned quite a bit about the government. He knew a thing or two about ours too. It was a pretty good time. Also had some finnish guy chew on my ear about how much he disliked the swedes due to discrepancies from WWII lol. Still holding a grudge lol.

We spent about 5 hours walking around today looking for music stores only to find all the good ones closed. Work hours are strange here. Damn it all. Might try again tomorrow though. I should be losing more wight from all this walking lol. It's a lot of fun though taking it slow and checking everything out.

Found the Hard Rock Cafe and got a shirt. Pretty good score I think. Not so sure about any shows though. We found out last night that not much if anything happens during the week. Gonna keep trying though.

Our hotel is right next to the largest shopping mall in scandanvia. Nordstan. It's crazy. The flow of people is about 10x greater than any mall in the USA except maybe Mall of America and they move fast! If you don't move, you get run over.

Well we finally found a show last night. The band was Kataklysm. It was pretty good time although a long walk and it was cold last night. Oh well.

A nasty storm rolled through here last night and is still going now at about 6:30pm. A couple inches of snow have gathered mixed with sleet and freezing rain. The wind is brutal too. Just a nasty day but it didn't stop us from going out lol. It took us a bit but we kinda sorta figured out the tram system so we got around on that today. Looked all day for some good cd stores. Found one and Jeff loaded up on cd' s.

Probably gonna be taking the train back into Stockholm tomorrow. There are couple tours we want to see there. One is of the Royal Palcae armory. Hopefully it's open.

I browsed through a video game store today. Holy shit! Expensive! It's about $70-$80 per game. Sucks to be a swede lol. I also found the EA/Dice Swedish headquarters in Stockholm. I'd like to get in but not sure how to go about doing that.

It's been an amazing time so far. We're heading back to Stockholm today. Göteborg has been a good time and I'd like to see it again. We met a couple really nice people last night. One was an english woman and the other was a serbian man. They both worked at a place called the Rock Baren which is a really cool rock and roll bar. There were pictures of all sorts of musicians who had visited the bar. Big names too. Metallica, motorhead, twisted sister, ronnie james dio, etc. A lot of cool memorbilia on the walls.
